jackets and tailoring

I have chosen to incorporate jackets and tailoring into the new collection as I feel it supports my original concept the most. Everything about the sewing machine and the mechanical concept is ordered and structured. That is what tailoring does to a garment, it controls it and gives it more structure.

Tailored garments contour to the body. They appear better fitting and of a much higher quality than non-tailored garments. I must be careful when creating garments that I do not tailor them too much, because that would severely limit the customer base (as only one particular body shape could fit the garments).

Ready-to-wear garments are made for a proportionate figure, but are cut on tried and true blocks. The best ready to wear firms only hire the most skilful cutters, many of whom have extensive training and experience in bespoke tailoring. Patterns are cut to the precision of a millimetre or less. At the top end of the market garments are often extremely well made up.
